Artistic Recovery Therapy for creative minded people.

  • Do you feel that your creativity is inspired or neglected by your drinking and drug misuse?

  • Do you worry that you will lose your creative edge if you put down the substances?

  • Are addictive behaviors or relationships interfering with your personal, creative and professional identities?

  • Are your romantic and sexual relationships challenging, addictive or unmanageable?

  • Have you lost motivation to create instead finding yourself feeling down and blocked creatively?

Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions or intimacy/relationship concerns, we can explore through psychotherapy or creative expression how to encourage your growth and transformation.

My area of expertise is supporting people who are faced with alcohol and substance misuse and other addictive behaviors, such as relational (sex and love) and process (pornography, food, shopping) addictions and compulsions. Whether you are curious about your relationship to alcohol/substances or have been sober for many years, I help maneuver all phases of recovery.

Many of my clients are creative professionals such as actors, musicians, dancers and visual artists who are seeking to discover what may be limiting their full potential. Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and addictive behaviors may cause significant creative blockage.

Together we can explore:

  • What are some alternative ways with coping with stress and uncomfortable emotions?

  • How does one challenge negative thinking or feelings of low self-esteem?

  • How we get back to a place where we have the physical and emotional energy to create?

  • What are healthy dating strategies that will prevent me from repeating addictive or unhealthy relationships?
