Psychotherapy

Often addictive substances and behaviors can suppress the emotional experience. Psychotherapy is a supportive and safe place for the exploration of underlying causes of substance use and emotions that may emerge in all phases of recovery.

All types of mental health concerns can be addressed during psychotherapy,  such as: self-esteem, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship or intimacy issues and emotional well-being, even if substance use is not an issue.

Art Therapy

Through the use of art materials we explore emotions and experiences that may be difficult to verbalize.  Art therapy often encourages unconscious material to surface allowing for new levels of self awareness.

Making art is not required in sessions. Many clients prefer to focus on traditional talk therapy, however some find it to be a soothing process. It is not necessary to have previous art experience to benefit from art therapy.

Sober Coaching

Together we can come up with daily solutions to making healthy sober decisions and avoid drugs and alcohol. We will develop basic self-care strategies and new behaviors to guide you through all phases of recovery. Additionally, psycho-education regarding drugs and alcohol will be provided, and relapse prevention tools will be explored.

Creativity Coaching

Are you feeling blocked creatively and unsure how to become unstuck? We can explore different ways of approaching your work, such as:  incorporating new materials, ways of working, new communities of people,  or just having an outside artistic eye to problem solve with. We can create daily, weekly and monthly plans to best focus your energies for success.

Clinical Supervision

I provide individual supervision for emerging art therapists who are looking to fulfill requirements towards licensure. As well I am available to interns who are in need of outside supervision when it is not provided on their internship site.
